Blood Donors Recruitment

These volunteers can assist to recruit blood donors, call blood donors to schedule appointment for their blood donations. Other assistance include serving refreshment, registration of donors and data entry of donors' records into the computer.
 

Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Response (DPER)

DPER volunteers can work locally or regionally. Volunteers can specialise in different areas such as damage assessment, mass cooking, health and relief services, records and reports.
 

Health and Safety

Health and Safety volunteers can work in a variety of areas. Volunteers are needed for provision of first aid services. Instructors are also needed for the teaching of the "First Aider In Every Home Programme", Occupational First Aid & Safety for the Industries and Home Nursing.
 

Dissemination of International Humanitarian Law (IHL)

Volunteers can assist in the promotion of th Red Cross/Red Crescent and the humanitarian ideals, the RC Fundamental Principles, Geneva Conventions & the Additional Protocols to target audience. Volunteers can also assist to translate relevant texts for dissemination.
 

Youth Services

The Malaysian Red Crescent Society Youth section needs many adult volunteers to assist with the Red Crescent unit management and the teaching of First Aid. Volunteers are also required to monitor school leaving members to encourage their continuity with the organisation in the adult volunteer group. Volunteers can also assist in giving personal resources development and leadership training to the youth leaders.
 

Community Services (Local and International)

Volunteers can involves in many of the community-based services and activities such as Anti-Dadah counselling, Primary Health Care and Health Camp for the vulnerables, care for the physically challenged and underprivileged, environmental protection and many other social and welfare activities.
 

Fund Raising, Information & Public Relations

Red Crescent is dependent upon charity and fund raising, efforts have to be mounted from time to time by fund raising volunteers. Volunteers can also assist in public relations and dissemination of information through Red Crescent channels, the print and electronic media to enhance the Society's visibility to target audience.
 

Office & Administration

Office and adminstrative volunteers are needed to perform a variety of tasks. Volunteer assistance is needed in answering telephones, translations, data entry, recording minutes of meetings, mailing, printing, processing of examination results and other general office duties.
