Miri is located at the north-eastern part of the "Land of Hornbills" — Sarawak, facing the South China Sea,                  close to Brunei border. It is the largest town in Sarawak, Miri is in the fourth division amongst the nine divisions in Sarawak (i.e. Kuching, Sri Aman, Sibu, Miri, Limbang, Sarikei, Kapit, Samarahan, and Bintulu). Miri is a rapidly expanding business & commercial centre & the home of Sarawak's oil industry. It is about one hour flight from Kuching and famous for its oil. In recent years, Miri has become a major tourism gateway & the jumping-off point for some of Sarawak's world-famous National Parks, including Mulu Caves, Niah Caves, Lambir Hills.  Other interesting destinations such as the Kelabit Highlands is also accessible from Miri (more about Miri  click here! ). Once you arrived in Miri, you can take a taxi to take you to the hotels. Two most popular hotels in Miri are  HOLIDAY INN MIRI SARAWAK and  RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL MIRI (for more information about accomodation  click here! ). You can find the rates of the rooms pay more value for your money. After you have settled in you can relax and enjoy the view of Miri town. Fortunately the location of these two hotels are along the shore of Miri, so you can sunbathing at the beach of Tanjung Lubang, Miri. Another attraction of Miri is its shopping complex. The most popular one is Bintang Plaza. I think what attracts people most to come to this shopping complex is the bowling alley. They got a bowling alley at the top floor of the building.  And if you want to play golf, Miri got one for you. It's located at Pulau Melayu. If you want to go there, you can go there by vehicle ferry.
