  1. The MALAYSIAN EASTER Golf Tournament  took place at the Shandon Golf Club Inc. on Friday, 10 April 1998. A total of 26 players took part in the tournment and the winners are: 
    • Overall Champion  C.K. Wong (66 nett on count back)
    • Runner-Up  John Lau (66 nett on count back)
    • A Medal Winner  Yeo Kah Yue 
    • A Medal Runner-Ups   Casey Foo and Colonel Raja Abdullah
    • B Medal Winner   Richard Ng
    • B Medal Runner-ups   Simon Yee, Sidney Yap, Maidin Osman, Datuk Amin Satem, and Ronnie Chang
    • C Medal Winner  Edward Lingan
    • C Medal Runner-Ups  Malcom Foo, Donald Lingan, and Yip Kok Lam
    • Bulls Eye Winner/s  No winners
    • Consolation Prize Winner  Gerald Foo
    There were no winner for the bulls eye competition. As a result, the prize pool of $52.00 was split three ways and a lucky draw conducted. The winners were Richard Ng ($7.00), Afendy Jaraee ($15.00) and Maidin Osman ($30.00). It might be worth mentioning that Maidin Osman was also the winner of the draw for a business class Malaysian Airlines ticket to Malaysia in last year's Merdeka Tournament.  The organising committee would like to thank all donors without whom, this tournament would not be able to attract this many participants, and congratulate all winners of this competition. We hope to see you all back here next year.  
     

     

    The Hornbill Trophy jointly sponsored by Datuk Amin Satem and Angelus Tay (Kiwi Plastic) took place at the Te Marua Golf Club Inc. on 18th April 1998. A total of 22 players took part in the competition. Weather was mixed with few scattered showers at the beginning of the game. Although playing conditions were not ideal, there were some outstanding play demonstrated. The results of the day's games are:

    • 1st Runner Up   Ray Lee  (38 Stableford points on count back)
    • 2nd Runner Up  C. K. Wong  (38 Stableford Points)
    • 1st 9 Hole Top Score Richard Ng  (20 Stableford Points on count back)
    • Runner Up  Maidin Osman  (20 Stableford Points)
    • 2nd 9 Hole Top Score Angelus Tay  (24 Stableford Points)
    • Runner-Up  Phillip Leong  (19 Stableford Points on count back)
    • Nearest To The Pin  Casey Foo, Professor Hood Salleh and Simon Yee
    • Consolation Prize  John Lau  (15 Stableford Points)
    • Most Putted Player  Ron Wong  (4 putts)

    H.E. Datuk Daniel Tajem and Datin were present at the end of the game to give away prizes. We would like to thank Datuk and Datin Tajem for their presence. A BIG thank you also goes to Datuk Amin Satem and Angelus Tay for their sponsorship of the tournament.
     
     

     

  1. Merdeka Golf Tournament 1998 will be the next tournament after the Datuk Amin Trophy. It will be held on Friday, 25 Sepetmber 1998. This tournament is open to all Malaysian and members of the International Diplomatic Corp.
