Mr. Sim is a renown and versatile artists born in the land of Hornbill in 1949.  He paints in oil, water color, acrylic, mixed-media, Chinese-Ink and Calligraphy.  With more than twenty eight years of practical experience and venture in the field of Art, Sim had developed a unique style and found his own way that combines the best of techniques and ideas from both the East and the West.

His recent works depict a wide range of images revealing the mysteries of Sarawak,  They reveal the local heritage, life and culture of native and local people, historical landmarks, traditional native longhouses in the landscape of rain-forest, wildlife, floral and fauna... of Sarawak.  All of which are revealed through his countless beautiful brushstrokes.

His works are currently on on-going display at various locations including a leading Hotel both in Kuching and Damai Beach Holiday Inn Resort, Gallery Nepenthes and recently the show room of Celini as well.  Most of his master pieces were well received and are being collected by art lovers from both local and around the globe.

 

Mr. Sim has been invited to display his works in numerous local and international Art show since 1969.  His works were displayed in oversea like New York, China, Taiwan, Singapore and his home country--Malaysia which including his Solo Show held twice in Kuching.

 

Beside being an Artist, Mr. Sim is a strong promoter of Arts.  He is a founder and life member of both Sarawak Artists Society and Kuching Chung Hua Arts Association.  He is a life member of both The International Chinese Society of Arts and Photography, New York, America and the Calligraphy Society of Malaysia.  Member of Malaysian Ling-nan Art Association.  To ensure continues awareness and support for the Arts, Mr. Sim constantly transfer his skills and knowledge to students, school leavers and those art-lovers alike by conducting art lessons on water color, oil, acrylic, copper tooling, Chinese Ink and Calligraphy during week end.
