This programme is one of the community services of the Malaysian Red Crescent Society.
The OBJECTIVES of this programme are:
- to provide first-aid training to the community
- to help people feel more confident of their ability to respond to an Emergency
& how to act appropriately in such an event.
It is our mission that by the year 2005, at least one member in every Malaysian fanily
would have been trained in First-Aid & Life Saving skills, thereby contributing to
promote the concept of a caring society.
Staff and students in schools, colleges & institutions of learning, employees of
Government Offices & Statutory bodies, youth organisations, service clubs &
associations, organised groups in housing estates, kampongs & longhouses can
approach the Malaysian Red Crescent Society at their respective districts to request
for the first-aid course to be conducted.
The course will be six and a half hours.
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE
People need to know what to do in an emergency before professional medical help arrives.
Since YOU are the person likely to be the first on the scene of an emergency, it is
important that you know how to recognise emergencies and how to respond. The course will
prepare you to make decisions regarding first-aid care and how to act on those decisions.
The first CRITICAL step in an emergency depends on someone who will take
appropriate action. After completing the Course, you should be able to:
- Recognise when an emergency has occurred
- Follow a 3-step action plan for any emergency
- Provide care for injuries or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives
The course clarifies when and how to call for emergency medical help, eliminating the
confusion that is frequently a factor in any emergency.
AWARDS
Certificate of Attendance will be issued to the participants at the conclusion of the Course.
