A total of 5864 pints of blood were available and sufficient to cater to the needs at
the Miri Hospital, private medical center and clinics in Miri and also other district
hospitals when requested by them.
MRCS maintained its record of 100% voluntary blood donation for the 18th consecutive year
in 2006. The Malaysian Red Crescent Society, Miri Chapter is the first in Malaysia to reach
a 100% voluntary blood donation in the year 1989. The strong of everyone in our Society
is the main reason in making our blood donation campaigns successful. We would like to
record our deepest thanks to the blood donors, the Medical Department, the public and
members of our Society for giving their blood and moral support in our effort to reach
out and save as many people as possible.
