Youth & Manpower
The membership in 1997 for the Youth from the secondary school stood at
12,031, while the Link members drawn from the primary schools were 9,448.
At the unit level, the activities organised are varied which include
training in leadership and personal development programme, the running of
the school first aid posts, cleaning & beautification of school compounds,
participating in health promotion activities, social and recreational
activities for the less unfortunate, local and international exchange
activities.
The Sarawak Branch had also the honour to host 2 international youth
gatherings known as Kem Kenyalang 1991 & Kem Kenyalang 1997 in which
participants from several National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
took part.The Voluntary Aid Detachment catering for the working adult
volunteers need further improvement for it to form an integral component
of the Society’s membership.
Plans have been made to recruit more adult volunteer and mobilise
them in suitable activities of their choice and expertise.
