Training

The Sarawak Branch had taken a quantum leap to improve in the training and
conducting of first aid courses. The first aid teaching methodology was
revolutionised in 1994 when the Branch shifted to use the American Red Cross
First Aid training module which, besides, conforming to the MRCS First aid
syllabus, is also well structured in its content. It also provides useful
and standard teaching tools for the Instructors who are able to give
consistent and standard deliverables to the student first aiders. Towards
this end, the materials and teaching tools have been translated to Bahasa
Malaysia which had widely been used in the schools and the local Chapters.

The Branch had also increased its interaction through periodical meetings
with the Chapters' Training Teams to monitor the implementation progress
of this training scheme and in turn obtain feedback from the grassroots.

The success which the Branch had achieved in the First aid training had
been largely attributed to the magnificent contributions by our Instructors,
Instructor-Trainers, Co-ordinators and Chairmen & Members of the Chapter
Training sub-committees.
